Disclaimer: this is late night rambling..and I didn't get much sleep.

Well, my food for thought of today is the debate behind stability or change. We have evidence for both existing in our lives. We always have continuity to our own personalities that were formed perhaps by the influence of our parents and peers, yet life is always a process for becoming.

In each stage of our development, until we pass from this earth, our personality changes...the continuity lies in the fact that we have inherent characteristics that we have built on. Things like our attitudes and temperament become more stable with age. But, the bottom line is that we all change with age and the most important lesson lies in the life requires BOTH.

"Stability enables us to depend on others, motivates our concern for our children's development and provides us with our identities.

Change motivates our concerns about our present influences, sustains our hope for a brighter future, lets us adapt and grow with experience."

I also read that the impact that our parents have on our lives in all actuality is huge in that it is our exposure to how we think life is supposed to be led when we are beginning our self discovery, but very small once we begin to form our identity.

My main point is we have a choices that defy the supposed concentricity of heredity. We build upon that common core and have the power to cause a ripple going the other way.

Change from what we know, and how we've led our lives is very intimidating and scary. I learned to accept change as exciting and exhilarating. It still gets frustrating at times, but when you begin to see the benefits of causing the ripple, instead of assuming the position you feel you may have been predestined for...it is an amazing thing.
